It is the last day before my long, glorious, 16-day Christmas vacation. And how am I spending it, you ask? Why, I’m consuming large quantities of caffeine! You see, I didn’t get to bed until almost 3:00 am last night.
What was I doing up so late? I’ll give you three choices as possibilities:
1. I’m Batman.
2. I’m dating a vampire.
3. I had to pick my dad up from from the airport shuttle.
Obviously, all three are plausible possibilities.
Regarding the first possibility, I do occasionally fight crime during my spare time. I once saw a bat in a cave one time, and it didn’t really phase me. Oh, and I own a batman suit.
Regarding the second possibility, I am a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And I like to eat onions, so my blood is very healthy. Also, I avoid the sun like the plague (have you seen what it’s done to George Hamilton?!), so it’s easy to see why a vampire could confuse me for one of their own.
However, I’m afraid I am going to shock most of you when I say neither of these possibilities is correct. No, I was up late last night because I had to pick up my dad from the airport shuttle. It’s not a high profile job, but — gosh darn it — someone has to do it.
So, anyway, I’m drinking lots of caffeine today. I’ve had Coke Zero, coffee, coffee grounds…anything I can get my hands on. It’s because I’m sleep deprived and wired with caffeine that I think I may have hallucinated earlier today.
My boss’s boss came by my office today and introduced me and my co-worker to either his daughter or his son’s girlfriend. I couldn’t remember which it was because my mind went blank.
After they left, I gathered myself and thought the following:
“It should be against the law for anyone to be that beautiful.”
And I have no doubt what was going through the girl’s mind as she walked away:
“Why did that pale guy with the Batman cape have coffee grounds all over his face?”
In unrelated news, I recently watched The Dark Night.
Awesome movie.
I'm a cypher, wrapped in an enigma, smothered in secret sauce. Also, my name is Kev and I own this here website.

I haven’t seen The Dark Knight yet. I need to rent that…

@Angi: You should. You’ll really like it. Although, and I hope this doesn’t ruin it for you, but the actor who plays The Joker in the movie died earlier this year. I know it didn’t get much attention in the press, but it’s true. I think his name was Keith something.

Would you be willing to post any pictures of you in your Batman suit?
Think about it. Maybe that would up your marriage proposals.

@Diana: Um…I’ll have to pass for a variety of reasons. The first one being I’m very modest. That outfit is very….well, yeah. But secondly and thirdly…
If I got more marriage proposals, I’d assume the girls were just Batman obsessed. How would I know they were into me and not just the costume? And what if I didn’t get more marriage proposals? My self esteem would be shattered. Haha.
;-) 12.19.08 at 4:59 pm:
But if you already were batman, it wouldn’t matter that they were obsessed with him, cause he’s YOU!!! It all makes sense. You have to post the pictures.

He DIED!!!??!?!?!?!?
;-) 12.19.08 at 5:18 pm:
@gianna: Even IF I was Batman, though, I’d still want girls to be interested in me for reasons other than the costume I wear. Besides…
I’M TOO MODEST TO POST SUCH PHOTOS!! Haha.
@Angi: Sadly, yes. Yes he did. I’m sorry. I know this is tough, brand-new information.
But since we’re on this topic, it’s probably a good time for me to finally tell you the ending of Titanic…

If you wore the suit, I’d send you a marriage proposal, so you’d have at least one.
And yes, I’d only be interested in the costume.

How funny, I’m watching The Dark Knight right now. I had already seen it in theaters but it’s so good that I had to see it again. Now all I can see when I look at Batman (Christian Bale) is your face Kev. This is too weird. You drive an sweet Lamborghini though…until it crashes.

Kev… after seeing the mass response you recieved on your marriage proposals, and reading your blog the ultimate ice breaker… I posted on my (something like myspace or facebook but isn’t) profile that I was wanting marriage proposals. Winner gets to change my name. This site has an affection for tags like RIP, AVP, RNGD, and F@M to name just a few. As I am tagless I though hey why not… Winner gets to tag me.
I left the competition open until the 24th to make sure I got at least one or two. However surprisingly, I recieved dozens, and even a few rewrites.
PS Kev I like you for your morals first of all, and then your sense of humor. I have to admit I would like to see you in a cape. Then I can think of you as not just Kev the funny blogger, but Kev the super hero. Maybe you can just photoshop it into your current pic?

I think I’m the only one left who hasn’t seen The Dark Knight… Has Angi seen it yet? ‘Cause then there’d be two of us!

Oh, mercy, you haven’t seen CHRISTIAN BALE in The Dark Knight? Talk about hot. He makes me forget Johnny Depp for about 0.2 seconds … whatever will I DO in July of ’09 when Public Enemies is released and they are both on the screen together? I won’t know where to look and I’ll get whiplash! Surely there will be a blog post in there somewhere … silver lining and all that.
Kev, my friend, no matter whether I ever get to see you in the batsuit, I want to thank you for your encouragement as a fellow blogger, and to say again that I always thoroughly enjoy SKOS. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year, and I hope you get lots of socks from your relatives! You’ll need them in this arctic weather we’re having … NOT.
Enjoy the rest of your vacation!
